जननायक चंद्रशेखर विश्वविधालय कि स्थापना 2016 में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा बल्लिया में गयी। यह एक राज्य विश्वविधालय है। इस विश्वविधालय ने 2016 -17 में बल्लिया के 122 कॉलेजों साथ अपना पहला सत्र शुरू किया था। बल्लिया में इस विश्वविधालय कि स्थापना से पहले ये 122 कॉलेज महात्मा गाँधी काशी विधापीठ वाराणसी से संबंध थे। शेक्षिणक सत्र 2016-17 के बाद जननायक चंद्रशेखर विश्वविधालय स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर कोर्सो के लिए सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षाए आयोजित करवाता है। तथा छात्र अपनी पढ़ाई करके अपनी डिग्री प्राप्त करते है। जननायक चंद्रशेखर विश्वविधालय उत्तर प्रदेश के विश्वविधालयों में अपना महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है।
